What is Digital Printing?

Digital printing is the process of direct conversion of digital information into printed material through digital printing system. During normal digital printing process, computer drives printing equipment to reproduce images and data information through applying or transferring inks and dyes (liquid or solid) to the sur face of subst rate in a di rect or indi rect means. Digi tal originals can be digital documents generated by digital pre-press system, or extracted from network and various types of digital media.
‘WYSWYG?is currently the most popular image description format adopted in digital printing, in which images displayed in moni tor screen wi l l also be pr inted & reproduced on the substrate. As an extension of above definition, digital printing cannot be in effect without computer, digital printing machine or printer and various driving software for printers, generating print images, texts and data, printing inks and related consumables as well as substrates. Elements for digital printing commonly used in mainland China include:

Printing inks and related consumables?/span>dry toners, carriers, electronic liquid inks, quick-set inks, aqueous inks, sublimation liquid inks
Substrates?/span>Printpaper, photopaper, PVC materials ,thermal-sensitive paper
What is Reprographics?
Reprographics is the general term for electrostatic printing, diazo process or any other form of shor t - run dupl i cat ing and printing. Reprographics normally involves the formation of latent images using photoelectric (e.g. xerography and electrofax) or photochemical (diazo process) effects followed by image development process to enable the printing images to be formed on the surface of the substrates (normally paper or films). The latent images can ei ther be formed directly on the substrates ( e.g.electrofax and diazo process) or on an intermediate media(e.g. xerography) before transfer to the substrates. In the past days photographic principle was normally adopted to generate the latent images in reprographic applications, particularly in xerography. Nowadays, photographic process is gradually replaced by direct formation of electronic imaging signals and laser beam technologies, as a result of the booming development in digital imaging industry which consists of computer, scanning, digital photography, storage, data transmission and software technologies. Xerography (colour & b/w copying), the once popular analogue mean for electrostatic graphic reproduction, is being replaced by digital laser printing which uses electronic originals generated by computer and allows high-resolution multiple original printing
(mopying) without any physical originals.
